Nothing is cozier on a cool Autumn evening than a gathering of the people you love around a warm fire. But why should your fire be merely be a source of warmth and comfort when it can also be a source of delicious food? Yup, we’re talking fire pit grills. If you’re interested in getting one, you’ve come to the right place. We’ve tested enough of these babies that we can safely say that these 5 fire pit grills are the best.
When it comes to fire pit grills, nothing beats the Yaheetech Square Fire Pit. It’s design alone makes it a great centerpiece on your deck or backyard. To add to that, this fire pit grill has 3 different uses. You can use it as a garden stove brazier to warm you up on cold nights or as a grill for cooking meals. And you can transform this baby into an ice pit if needed. Just take note that this is not like some other grills where you can control the temperature using vents, etc. And it also doesn’t come with a cooking grate.
The BioLite FirePit Outdoor Smokeless Fire Pit Grill comes second on our list of favorite fire pit grills. This baby is a great choice for camping. It burns wood for warmth and enables you to cook meals hibachi-style. Unlike the Yaheetech model, this one comes with an airflow system that you can control using your smartphone or the Fire Pit’s powerpack. And have we mentioned that you can also use said powerpack to charge your devices while you enjoy the great outdoors? However, it is a bit small so you won’t be able to warm up a large group on this one (or feed them either).
Our last three favorites look remarkably similar. All of these fire pit grills feature a cauldron shape with a removable grill on top that swivels 360 degrees and is height adjustable. There are, of course, differences too. Our favorite among the three is the Bali Outdoors Wood-Burning Fire Pit. It certainly meets our trifecta – beautiful, good build, and a great bargain. It has around 450 square inches of cooking space that will fit the cooking needs of most people and a unique log rack to for better ventilation when burning wood.
For those who want something more compact for their deck, patio, or backyard, the Catalina Creations 29.5” Crossfire Fire Pit is your best bet. It’s also an excellent choice for those with a very limited budget. And at 22 lbs, it’s the easiest to move around and possibly take with you on your next tailgate party or trip to the beach.
The Shinerich Industrial SRFP96 Pit and Grill is the largest of all three which makes it ideal for those who want to be able to cook a lot of food AND warm more people. Aside from its size, we love that it has ample grill space on the side that can also double for extra grill space if you want to do a spot of indirect cooking or keeping food warm. The only drawback with this fire pit grill is the price.
